We expanded into England in 2022 to reach more families who are looking for a different, more nurturing approach.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all education. Instead, we create a truly bespoke curriculum and personalised timetable designed specifically around each pupil’s strengths, needs, interests, and pace of learning.
Our small, dedicated support teams provide the consistency and care every child deserves, while giving them the time and calm space needed to gradually build confidence, self-awareness, and a strong sense of emotional security.
Guided by kindness, acceptance, and integrity, we help children who have struggled in other educational settings to finally feel safe, valued, and understood.
In this nurturing environment, they can begin to heal, grow in confidence, and rediscover the joy of learning.
Our Journey
Back in 2007, Meg and Kay recognised a real gap in education — a place that could truly offer holistic, trauma-informed, nurture-based education with empathy, patience, and high aspiration.
Drawing on their extensive experience in mainstream and social inclusion settings, they created Bettws Lifehouse based on nurture principles, trauma-informed practice, and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
Today, with beautiful campuses in Bettws Cedewain (Mid Wales) and Shrewsbury, we continue to evolve by listening to our pupils and families.
We support children with a wide range of needs including anxiety, PDA profiles, low mood, trauma, and social and emotional difficulties — always in a calm, nature-rich environment that promotes balance and wellbeing.
